It's been almost a whole year since my last post, and a lot has happened regarding my plants. For one thing, my crude attempt at constructing a make-do greenhouse for the winter failed, and my plants suffered from that. In fact, I lost my biggest and best champion night-blooming cereus, leaving me with only one. Then, to add insult to injury as far as the plants are concerned, we moved. Yes, in the middle of the winter my ol' man and I moved from one little town to another one about 35 miles away -- so the move impacted my plants in a big way. I left them behind in the upstairs sunroom for a couple of months. I did go back and check on them occasionally, but I really missed having them with me and couldn't wait to get them here to the new house.
So, here it is June, and the plants and I are just about settled into our new home. We have a back deck here that most of them really like. I've been more than worried about my night-bloomer, though, because it's really old, and I had to re-pot it, and I was away from it for so long. Suffice it to say that I was THRILLED when a couple of days ago I saw flower buds! Yes! I think we're gonna get night-bloomin' demented again this year! Check out the photos.
