My Purple Shamrock

This is a purple shamrock. At night its leaves close up so that they make little "tents." I love this plant. One thing that really works to keep it healthy is, once a year, to give it a rest of about a month. When the plant starts to look a little "weak," usually in late winter, put it in a dark, dry place (I put it underneath my stairwell.) and LEAVE IT ALONE for a solid month. Do not look at it; do not water it. Then, at the end of the month, take it out (It'll look dead and pitiful.), put it in a sunny window, and start watering. It'll "come out" more beautiful than ever. I have this one sitting about eye level on a shelf near my front door, and everybody who comes in comments on it.
