I Love Me Some Coleus!
Coleus are so cool. First, they're hardy as all get-out. And they come in lots of different color combinations and leaf sizes and shapes. And there are shade varieties and sun varieties. And they grow fast. Maybe their most important attribute is that they provide color without bloom. That means that they provide color all the time; you don't have to wait for a bloom to provide color. No, they don't make it through the winter here -- at least, not outdoors. They're pretty much annuals. You CAN turn them into perennials if you bring 'em inside during the winter, but little coleus plants are not very expensive, so most folks usually just buy new ones each spring.
