Nice stand of aloe, huh? I love to keep a pot of aloe near my kitchen so that I can use it in case of a "cooking burn." I find that aloe does better if I pretty much leave it alone. I seldom water it, and when I do water it I make sure I do not drown it.
Look closely and you can see in the background, near the middle of the photo, a hanging bud of a night-blooming cereus, which is adjacent to the planter of aloe.

i've had a big, healthy aloe plant sitting on the back of my commode for 5 years and i've NEVER watered it. never ever. i can only assume that it's getting moisture from the steam the shower puts out.
